More than 200,000 spectators at the FIM MotoGP World Championship called on to “Think.Eat.Save”

During the recent 10th World Conference on Sport and Environment in Sochi, Russia, hundreds of thousands attending the International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) MotoGP World Championship were called upon to support the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) food waste campaign known as “Think.Eat.Save”.

Some 200,000 spectators at the championship race were invited to support the campaign by reducing their “FoodPrint”.

The motorcycle championship was held as part of the World Conference, which ran from 30 October to 2 November and brought together representatives from the Olympic sector, governments, the UN system, academic institutions, NGOs, sponsors and the media.

The International Motorcycling Federation is committed to supporting UNEP initiatives and projects linked with Sport, by sharing environmental messages and through actions taken during its events.

During the last round of the FIM MotoGP finals in Valencia, Spain, a photo shoot was organized with six Environment Ambassadors (see images below).
